The Fibonacci Quartet are First-Prize Winners of the XIII ‘Premio Paolo Borciani’ International String Quartet Competition 2024.
The Fibonacci Quartet took first place at the distinguished international quartet competition, which was held in Reggio Emilia in Italy in June 2024. The Quartet was awarded a remarkable €25,000 cash prize, as well as Artist's in Residence in Reggio Emilia for 2024-2026. The quartet also won the audience prize of €2,000.
Three out of four members of The Fibonacci Quartet have previously been participants of Maiastra courses; violinist Kryštof Kohout took part in Maiastra’s March/April course in 2023, violist Elliot Kempton performed in January 2022 and cellist Findlay Spence took part in Maiastra’s December 2019 course.
