The honour marks an exciting new chapter for the Swedish Japanese violist, whose artistry has already earned international recognition. As part of her Swedish Radio season, Ami-Louise made her solo debut with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra earlier this month at Berwaldhallen, performing Bohuslav Martinů’s Rhapsody-Concerto for Viola and Orchestra under the baton of Yi-Chen Lin.

Reflecting on the appointment, Ami-Louise said she is especially looking forward to the solo and chamber music projects with Swedish Radio planned throughout the season. The programme promises to showcase both the expressive depth of her playing and her versatility as a chamber musician and soloist.

Ami-Louise is a familiar face to the Maiastra community, having taken part in several Maiastra courses over the years, including December 2019, April 2022, September 2023, October 2023 and February 2026. Her continued musical development and growing international profile will be warmly celebrated by everyone who has followed her through these courses.
